The Best Place to Meet and Buy the Designs of Tomorrow

From 3rd October to 25th December the famous department store Rinascente in Milan and Design Supermarket will be the desirable place to visit for design lovers.

There will be on the show and on sale the 12 extremely select products designed by 9 new talented designers. If you visit Rioschente in this period you will find on display: chairs, tables, lamps, trays and vases, fitness equipment and everyday and decorative objects. Their creators are of Stefano Carta Vasconcellos (Italy), Winner of the 2018 SaloneSatellite Award, Mauro Baronchelli (Italy), Visser + Meijwaard (Holland), Nöme (Russia), Kenkö (Germany), Valentina Zuendel (Italy/Austria) and Alizarina Studio (Italy).

This exhibition is the result of long-lasting cooperation between SaloneSatellite and Rinascente.

This year will be the sixth edition of successful strategy relating to the promotion of the promising designers under 35. SaloneSatellite happens to be the first step in presenting young designers giving them international visibility and direct contact with manufacturers during the Salone Internazionale del Mobile. On the other hand, the role of famous Milan’s Department Store is to host the creations of international designers, singled out at SaloneSatellite, offer them to the market and check saleability.

Digital fabrication of the tailor-made products

If you need a writing table, functional, adapted to the needs of the modern user the ItaloDesk is the right product. ItaloDesk is the system of plywood furniture only in birch designed by Stefano Carta Vasconcellos winner of the last edition of the Salone Satellite Award (with the project Cucina Leggera).

This furniture was designed with a structure that is supported only by a system of joints. The design of the table provides enough space for the placement of tools necessary for work. The production process is the combination of the craftsmanship and digital fabrication. From the showroom to the final position in your home the short time is required as it is easily assembled without screws or glues.

What is more important, the size of the product can be personalized depending on the customer need because ItaloDesk is designed with a parametric approach: each desk is designed with a digital tailor-made method.

Waste as raw material

Perception Collection of cups made of recycled materials. Cups are always necessary for your home, in the office. You can buy them for yourself for everyday use or as a present. These unique Cups are the best example of how a person can feel the object through senses: feel the material, the structure and the smell. Furthermore, the cup is a symbol of people connection and love that creates mood and emotional impact.

Common waste materials, such as denim, leather, paper, plastic, rubber, styrofoam and glass were found and collected from different waste sources. These waste materials were recycled and treated with the same appreciation as raw materials. Through craftsmanship and experimentation, original textures and structures became the base for new products. Perception cups are with the sustainable, skilful and sensitive design.

Ricco is a pouf with interesting shape and surface structure that gives personality to the product. This furniture inspired by nature in bright colours. Design in line with the environment

Alizarina Silva fabric panels are inspired at tapestry using natural tissues and dyes, studying compositions and colours.

The panels are handmade and then finished with the sewing machine to embroider. The fabrics are dyed by hand and fastened with the natural product to create organic works in tune with the environment.

The tapestry becomes a sort of a visual, mental and physical map. They can always remind you of the nice memories of Milan or to be a suitable gift for your dear ones.

Unexpected design

Designer Mauro Baronchelli displayed in Rinascente two products: lamps and chair.

Stool Truecolors is Inspired by the characteristics of PVC cloth, Visser & Meijwaard wanted to see how industrial fabric could play a leading role in a contemporary furniture piece.

Truecolors is built up out of natural-finished oak frames with primary coloured PVC upholstery that can be opened and closed with industrial zippers. The collection consists of a series of benches, stools and cabinets in which versatility of colour and use are key. In Rinascente is exposed Truecolors stool which is suitable for small spaces
