About Design Competitions

The aim of the design competition is to: raise and nurture design capabilities, raise the image of the organizer and to introduce new products.

The consents are equally beneficial for their participants and organizers. The organizers (companies, professional organizations, Institutions….) receive new design and fresh ideas. The successful participants receive awards and are usually provided with marketing and communication services. The competition results take the attention of design-oriented companies, professionals and interest groups. The winners can find better and higher profile leads, get a step ahead in their commercial life. All participants get new professional experience.

Depending on the consent, the winning designers also get a chance to expose at important Fairs or exhibitions. The good example is SaloneSatellite Shanghai winners who have the opportunity to take part in the SaloneSatellite Milano. 

Product Design

Andrea World receives many Awards for their products which are the indicator of quality and perfection in design.

Only last year they were a winner of best of NeoCon Awards in different categories (TABLES: COMMUNAL & TASK, SEATING: STACKING, SEATING: SOFAS & LOUNGE, SEATING: BAR STOOLS), Red Dot Award 2017.

*The collection consists of chairs, counter and barstools which complements perfectly the chair version with its simple and light design. The "Smart" barstool, developed, won a " Best of NeoCon: Silver Award" in the "Seating Barstools" category.

The 18th Andreu World International Design Contest December 2018

One of the ways to improve product design is to organize design competition.

Andreu World is one of the companies which organize Design Competition each year. The 18th Andreu World International Design Contest is in progress. The design documentation in line with competition rules must reach the address of Andreu World before November 30, 2018.

The competition is open both to design students and to professionals, without age limit. To take part, contestants must design an item of furniture (seat or table) that integrates all the specifications outlined by Andreu World, S.A. in the product briefing and which resolves the accompanying technical and formal challenges in the terms indicated.

The main material used for seating and tables must be Beechwood, Oakwood or Walnut. Chairs may be upholstered to a greater or lesser extent if considered appropriate and veneered board or plywood. Tables may be veneered board or plywood.

The use of other materials such as metals, plastics, glass, etc. is allowed when complementary, structural or incidental to the above.

All designs presented must be new, not having been marketed or disclosed before the date of the Contest.
