In the creative process of producing designed, industrial products (works) several stages are distinguished, which in shortest can be defined as: development and precision of project brief, design (concept design,… production design...), the production itself, and then the activities related to the introduction of new product on the market. Beside creative work, there are also various types of studies, research in the field of technology, marketing, cost… toward products of new shapes, forms and functional possibilities with the application of modern materials, but which are suitable as for the appropriate manufacturing processes as for the market. In an entire process, the complexity and heterogeneity of problems require a multidisciplinary approach, as the appropriate and quality solutions can only be reached through the teamwork of experts of various profiles with the professional cooperation and new types of interrelations.
While the rest of the artists have the “privilege” of setting “tasks” to themselves, and they alone “produce” their works of art, so that everything depends on their inspiration, creative moment; in case of industrial design a lot depends on other factors and not only on the artist.
For project realization of an industrial design beside many factors from crucial importance is the relation artist– manufacturer, respectively willingness of the manufacturer to cooperate. Everything begins to move in the positive direction when there is a conscience of the manufacturer that the industrial design has the purpose of improving the products and the production, as well as that the result will be good sales and positive economic results. The products with the design sign mark possess an additional quality which is also represented by the price. The general climate and the encouragement to cooperation can be contributed by the instruments, actions on a social level that is in accordance with cultural politics and defined goals. There are series of “recipes” and examples in the world that are possible ways of moving in the desired direction for the given field.
Gallery exhibitions of industrial design projects represent a curtain type of satisfaction for the creator only at the domain of art form. However, as the name itself tells, the industrial design is intended for the industry, and the product for the ultimate user. Thus, the real pleasure for the creator is only when the final products from the domain of mass production are found all around us: in stores, at homes, in schools...even in the museums, galleries.
In that case, the users that are satisfied with the look and characteristics of their use items begin to recognize, love, seek them… If they do not remember precisely the author, personalized by name and surname, they should not be resented. These are the data which if are worth the attention is going to be recorded in the anthologies and textbooks about design.
Most importantly, the design as an additional quality of the final product completely approaches the user and should appear as a category that everyone can afford.
That way the borders are erased, the art enters the life, the life enters the museums and the design becomes an integral part of life– in real sense applied arts and appropriate cultural expression of the society.
