From restaurants to hotels, furniture to space modules, his works have been realized not only in his native France but all over the world. Philippe Starck’s creative opus includes more than 10,000 designs. If we look only at the design area, we will notice a wide range of his designs for objects of different purposes: furniture, lighting, daily objects ( cooking and tableware, elements for the bathroom..) than clothes and accessories, all the way to the luxury yachts and other vehicles.

His furniture products realized well-known companies like B&B Italia, Kartell, Cassina, Driade, Glas Italia and many others.

Starck’s designs are part of the collection of many worldwide museums. Some of them are:  the Musée National d'Art Moderne, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs bothin Paris, the MOMA, the Vitra Design Museum in Basel

What is also important is that Philippe Starck’s designs do not exist only in the museums but also all around us. They become an integral part of our lives presented in our homes, beloved cafes and restaurants, famous hotels. Users recognize and love his designs. There doesn’t seem to be a person unfamiliar with Marie and Louis Ghost (Kartell 2002) chair or Miss Sissi (Flos, 1991) lamp. Philippe Starck with his designs tightly connects art and everyday life.

Also, there is no professional in the sector who do not admire his work relating to the use of recycled materials and process for the final product. One of the examples is Zartan chair (Magis, 2012) as the first entirely recycled roto-moulded chair where plastic components have been replaced with plant-based materials. The Broom Chair (Emeco,2012) initiated usage of the recycled industrial waste for sustainable composite as row material.

One of the new designs by Philippe Starck, in the year 2020, is the Oh, it rains! for B&B Italia Outdoor collection

Philippe Starck designed the outdoor collection with an interesting and intriguing name   Oh, it rains!

The backrest can fold down on top of the seat and protect the seat and cushions. As the backrest is 100% waterproof, made with a double layer of water-repellent fabric, there is no inconvenience with outdoor furniture in case of the rain.

The backrest dimension also enables privacy. It acts as a partition and creates an intimate and private setting, when necessary.

The version with a side table, integrated into the structure, can be support for telephone or a cup of coffee.

With extended functional options, Oh, it rains! will meet the need of the contemporary user and bring even more comfort in private or public open spaces.
