What is also important is that Philippe Starck’s designs do not exist only in the museums but also all around us. They become an integral part of our lives presented in our homes, beloved cafes and restaurants, famous hotels. Users recognize and love his designs. Also, there is no professional in the sector who do not admire his work relating to the use of recycled materials and process for the final product. One of the examples is Zartan chair (Magis, 2012) as the first entirely recycled roto-moulded chair where plastic components have been replaced with plant-based materials. The Broom Chair (Emeco,2012) initiated usage of the recycled industrial waste for sustainable composite as row material.
One of the new designs by Philippe Starck, in the year 2020, is the Oh, it rains! for B&B Italia Outdoor collection
Extended functional options
Philippe Starck designed the outdoor collection with an interesting and intriguing name Oh, it rains!
What attracts attention is the impressive dimensions of the backrest. It enables comfort, as a basic function, enhanced by optional cushions.
Other, extra functions arise from the product’s shape and characteristics.

The backrest can fold down on top of the seat and protect the seat and cushions. As the backrest is 100% waterproof, made with a double layer of water-repellent fabric, there is no inconvenience with outdoor furniture in case of the rain.
The backrest dimension also enables privacy. It acts as a partition and creates an intimate and private setting, when necessary.
The version with a side table, integrated into the structure, can be support for telephone or a cup of coffee.
With extended functional options, Oh, it rains! will meet the need of the contemporary user and bring even more comfort in private or public open spaces.
